Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@cedarserenity.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Call us at (952) 245-0369 or email us at info@cedarserenity.com to get strated.

Once we connect we will help you choose the best therapist for you depending on your needs and schedule your first session.

Think of your first session as an open, conversational space where you and your therapist start getting to know each other. Your therapist will invite you to share about yourself, including what has worked or not worked for your mental health in the past.

Some topics your therapist may explore include:

  • What’s currently happening in your life.
  • Goals you'd like to achieve through therapy.
  • What background or experiences would help your therapist to understand your current challenges.

You are also encouraged to ask questions—about your therapist’s experience, the therapy process, or what future sessions might look like.

The most important part of the first session is that you feel comfortable, supported, and understood. If it feels like a good fit, you can decide together whether to schedule future sessions.

Your story is confident and safe. Your privacy is very important to us!
We understand that you may worry about family, friends, or colleagues learning what you share in therapy. Rest assured, everything discussed in sessions is confidential, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.

If you have any questions about how confidentiality works, please feel free to ask your therapist at any time.

Feeling nervous is a natural part of the process, and a sign that you’re taking an important step toward growth and healing. It’s completely normal to feel nervous before your first therapy session. Starting therapy means opening up about personal thoughts and feelings, which can feel vulnerable. Many people worry about being judged, not knowing what to say, or whether therapy will help. Your therapist is there to create a safe, supportive space where you can go at your own pace and feel heard and understood.

The cost of a counseling session at our clinic varies based on the type of service you require. Please contact our office for more information on pricing.

A typical counseling session lasts for 53 minutes, although some sessions may be longer or shorter depending on your needs and preferences.
