Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a collaborative relationship beween a person and a therapist. It is also called psychotherapy, talk therapy, and counseling. People may seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone. Common goals of therapy can be to identify challenges and concerns, inspire change, overcome obstacles, or improve quality life. People in therapy can learn skills and techniques to manage difficult feelings, making healthy decisions, and reach their goals. They can also become more self-aware. Some people even go to therapy for self-growth.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy also known as marriage counseling, or relationship counseling is a form of therapy that support people in intimate relationships. The purpose of couples therapy is helping partners learn more about each other and acquire healthy problem-solving skills, manage conflicts, and improve communication skills. A couple in a healthy relationship may seek counseling to increase intimacy or find new ways to connect with each other emotionally.

In person therapy is offered at our office in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Teletherapy
Teletherapy has also been called online therapy, telemental health, and distance counseling. It enables you to meet with your therapist from home, work, or whatever works best for you. You can access your therapist through a secure live video that is HIPAA compliant.
Eye Movement Disensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
EMDR therapy helps people recover from trauma and disturbing events without having to talk at length about the traumatic experience(s). It is an evidence based therapy with a lot of research support. Your therapist will help you identify your internal and external resources and the experiences causing distress and their relationship with current symptoms. EMDR reprocessing takes a number of sessions and can be done either in person or via telehealth.
